People say the most stupid things and what’s even worse is they believe them! Yes, I realize that is not a politically correct statement, but I can’t help it I am merely stating the obvious! Case and point, last night Jackie and I were watching Tucker Carlson on Fox News and one of his guests was a woman named Cathy Areu, the publisher of Catalina Magazine. I sat in total disbelief as I listened to her speak. This woman was actually given national television time to discuss the fine points of how breast feeding referred to as being a natural act is an infringement upon the feminist movement.
One of the points this mental giant, (and I feel I am being kind with this description), alluded to was how it is inappropriate to say it is natural for a woman to breast feed her baby, when in fact it is just as natural for a man to feed a child. It evidentially is not natural for all women to breast feed and the mere reference to it being natural can cause mental distress. It one case she cited it caused a woman unable to produce milk such mental distress that rather than feed her newborn formula she thought not feeding the baby at all would produce a preferable outcome. After two weeks the new mother finally made an appointment with her doctor who assured the new mother that formula was a perfectly acceptable substitution for no milk at all. Additionally I learned that it is unethical to refer to breast feeding as natural as it might actually disrupt feminism. Hmmmm, I think I may have missed something in health class when they explained the birds and the bees.
I am not ashamed to say that I am not a feminist, but with that said I don’t believe that women are in a lower class than men. I do believe that God created two sexes, each created for and capable of different things and when joined together and combined the two halves create one whole. Now we can argue and fuss over many things, but regardless of what your personal beliefs are, there is no denying that biologically there are things that only a woman or a man can do. Period! Now I will not endeavor to get into the list of differences I feel exists between the two sexes, however I will go on to say this; it seems to me that there is a real push in our society to morph humans from a dual sex species to a genderless race. You know, like earth worms. People with no assigned gender capable of doing all functions necessary to procreate and exist in and of themselves with no need to intermingle with another being. And I am ashamed to say that it occurs to me it is women leading this movement.
I have said it before that I enjoy being a woman and I would not want to be a man for all the tea in China, (oops, that probably was not politically correct either). I like the fact that Jackie and I are different and each bring a unique skill set to our marriage and home. I realize, understand and accept that each one of us has the right to choose what best suits us and the lifestyle we choose to live. Jackie and I opt to do God’s way, which we feel is the right way. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to call my mother and make sure I’ve got the whole birds and bees facts straight!
Until we meet here again, I pray God bless you and keep your loved ones safe.
