Brain Overload

I was thinking this morning as I was having my first cup of coffee and listening to the news just how much fun life used to be in the old days. The days before technology and the media saturated every waking moment of our lives. If we had a questions or moral a dilemma we went to God instead of Wikipedia to look for the answer. I do and I miss those days.

Now don’t get me wrong, in moderation all of this new fangled stuff can be good, but therein lies the problem. From what I have observed moderation is seldom achievable with all things techno and it has had a serious impact on how we live our lives and form relationships. Myself, I do not think the impact has been a good one. And have you noticed just how little we laugh anymore? How little we smile. Is all that we had to smile, laugh and joy over gone or is it that we just have grown calloused and don’t care to look for the blessings anymore? Or could it possibly be that we just don’t spend time sitting quietly with God anymore.

The next time you find yourself bogged down and overwhelmed with life might I offer this suggestion, turn off your phone, computer and television and just sit in the quiet. Think on the good things life has to offer, the people you love and the things that make you happy and only those things. Ask God to quiet your soul and fill you with peace and see if those things do not seem a little less important.

Until we meet here again, I pray God bless you and keep your loved ones safe.
