Time To Warm Up The Kitchen!

Good afternoon friends! If any of you are like we here in Kentucky you find yourself this afternoon in the midst of a deep freeze with no thaw in sight. So with that said, I felt some old fashioned, comfort cooking was in order to warm both the kitchen and the soul. What does the picture above have to do with cooking you ask? Not a darn thing. I just thought perhaps you would like it as much as I did.

Now back to topic. I added three new recipes today two of which I will be cooking once I finish writing the blog. I thought perhaps you would enjoy cooking along with me. The first is in the Main Dishes category and it is Cheeseburger Soup. Jackie loves this hearty and filling soup and cannot get over how much it does taste like a cheeseburger.

The other two recipes you will find under Baked Goods. The first is a recipe for Friendship bread. It is a sweet bread filled with cinnamon and it's moist and delicious and it makes two loafs so you can share one with a neighbor! The next is for Poppy Seed muffins which is a delicious recipe that came from my Grandma's cousin Lorrine, who ironically didn't cook. She obtained the "top secret" recipe from a bakery who swore her to secrecy when they gave it to her. She subsequently made each person she gave it to promise that they would share it with no one, then they would make each person they shared it with promise.....you see where I am going here. So while I am sharing the recipe for these muffins with you, I will not make you take an oath of secrecy before you try it.

If you try any of these recipes I would love to hear what you think and better yet if you try one snap a picture and send it my way.

Until we meet here again, I pray God bless you and keep your loved ones safe.
