(The air duct Jackie disguised with wood)
When last I wrote you, the installation of our new central heating and cooling unit had just begun. As I write you now the entire project is completed. All that remains to do now is a good, thorough cleaning. Jackie and I have undertaken many home improvement projects during our ten plus years of marriage however this particular project has taken the longest to complete and was perhaps the most challenging. We had to do some work, then the a/c contractor had to do their work and then lastly we had a lot of work to do.
A lot of couples don't work well together for one reason or another. We have ourselves butted heads on a number or occasions as we each have very strong opinions on just about everything and are not shy about sharing them. However in spite of that, Jackie and I have always worked well together. We each bring a skill to the table that in and of itself would in no way be capable of bringing an idea to life. But when we collaborate and mix our ideas and work together the impossible becomes possible and we accomplish infinitely more than we could ever on our own.
Really when you think about it, a well done home improvement project and a good marriage have a lot in common. They both take much planning and thought, work and commitment, some bickering and negotiating. And while it is true some days will leave you exhausted and wore out, in the end if you stick with it and don't give up, you will be able to sit back with your partner and enjoy the fruits of your labor.
Until we meet here again, I pray God bless you and keep your loved ones safe.
